- Dietary supplementation with protected calcium effects production and egg quality of Hy-line brown laying hens

This study investigated the effects of protected calcium supplementation in laying hens.

Supplementing protected calcium improved Haugh unit, eggshell strength and thickness, and increased the concentrations of calcium and phosphorus in the blood.

These results suggest that protected calcium may be a useful nutritional strategy to maintain productivity and egg quality in laying hens.
